Electrocardiogram

An Electrocardiogram is used to detect heart problems. The EKG provides a picture of the electrical activity that regulates the heart’s cycle of contraction and relaxation. Any patient with a diagnosis of coronary artery disease or has a family history of this disease should have this test performed as part of their evaluation.

This test is performed in the office on a regular basis. It is a simple test that is painless, relatively quick, and reveals an abundance of information about the condition of a patient’s heart. Providing this service in-house saves the patient a trip to the hospital or other off-site imaging center and reduces anxiety as the results are read by either Dr. Goul or Dr. Williams as they are reported.
